About the Role

This position is responsible for providing Employee Relations (ER) support and employment legal advice in line with the Bank's compliance, obligations, and the overall Group Capability Centre (GCC) business strategy and aspirations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with Talent & Culture (T&C) and business stakeholders to provide advice on people matters, employment litigation, ER policy, regulatory matters, labour codes, and projects.
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships globally with ER colleagues and various stakeholders, including senior executives, Talent and Culture T&C Heads, and external lawyers.
  • Diagnose gaps in compliance and people policies, identify new codes, and bring knowledge of external factors and Labour law and other political nuances.
  • Provide regulatory compliant solutions that align with our strategic goals, focusing on behavioural change.
What You Will Bring

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Able to provide legal guidance and advice on a wide range of employment-related issues in India, including hiring practices, employment contracts, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour laws, employee benefits, termination procedures, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop, review, and implement employment policies and procedures that are compliant with local laws and align with ANZ's values and goals.
  • Manage employment-related disputes, claims, and litigation matters, including EEOC charges, discrimination claims, wage disputes, and wrongful termination lawsuits.
  • Monitor changes in employment laws and regulations, assess their impact on ANZ, and recommend proactive measures to ensure compliance and mitigate potential risks.
  • Independently manage grievances and conduct internal investigations into complaints of workplace misconduct, discrimination, harassment, or other policy violations.
  • Assess employment legal risks associated with T&C initiatives, business strategies, and operational decisions, providing proactive advice to mitigate risks and avoid potential legal liabilities.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is approximately ₹10,00,000 - ₹15,00,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
