Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler to work remotely on designing, governing, and implementing conceptual, logical, and physical data models across modern cloud platforms.

  • Achieve scalable and reusable data solutions by developing a deep understanding of enterprise business domains (Customer, Sales, Finance, Supplier, Technology Inventory).

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with SQL Data Warehouses, Databricks Delta Lakehouse, and other MPP databases combined with domain knowledge in multiple areas.

Required Skills:

Data Modelling Tools:

  • Strong proficiency with data modelling tools such as ER/Studio, Erwin, IDM/ARDM.

Domain-Specific Data Modelling:

  • Experience in domain-specific data modelling for CPG, Manufacturing, Sales, Finance, Supplier, Customer.

MPP Database Technologies:

  • Hands-on expertise with at least one MPP database technology such as Databricks Lakehouse, Redshift, Synapse, Teradata, Snowflake.

Version Control Systems & Deployment Automation:

  • Experience with GitHub or other version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation.

Metadata Management & Data Lineage:

  • Familiarity with metadata management, data lineage, and glossaries.

Agile, DevOps, and DataOps Methodologies:

  • Working knowledge of Agile, DevOps, and DataOps methodologies.

SAP Data Models:

  • Understanding of SAP data models including HANA, S/4HANA, Retail, and third-party retail data like IRI, Nielsen.

Nice-to-Have:

Prior Freelance/Consulting Experience:

  • Prior freelance/consulting experience delivering data modelling and data governance solutions.

Communication Skills:

  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with business stakeholders, data stewards, and technical teams.
