Database Expertise

  • Design and implement databases using SQL Server, MySQL, and MongoDB.
  • Maintain databases by ensuring backups and restores are properly executed.
  • Manage deployments and adhere to best practices.
  • Collaborate with the security team to ensure database security.
  • Perform database migrations between servers and versions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to databases.
  • Partner with vendor support for assistance on complex issues.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to databases.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to ensure system availability and performance.
  • Create Change Management Requests with IT and Development.
  • Support reporting team members with database queries and data requirements.
  • Provide Power BI (and other reporting platforms) support.
  • Work with the development team members for AI integrations.
  • Design and develop Power BI dashboards and reports based on business requirements.
  • Optimize Power BI data models for performance and scalability.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources into Power BI using Power Query and DAX.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across dashboards.
  • Implement row-level security and manage access permissions in Power BI.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver actionable insights.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience as a DBA, with a focus on SQL Server, MySQL, and MongoDB.
  • Exceptional knowledge of database administration, design, and maintenance for SQL Server, MySQL, and MongoDB.
  • Experience with database migrations and deployments.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work during regular business hours.
  • Experience working with vendor support is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Change Management processes.
  • Experience supporting reporting team members with database queries and data requirements.
  • Experience providing Power BI (and other reporting platforms) support.
  • Familiarity with AI integrations.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.
  • Experience in creating interactive dashboards and visualizations.
  • Understanding of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.

Requirements

  • DBA Experience: At least 5 years of experience as a DBA, with a focus on SQL Server, MySQL, and MongoDB.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Exceptional knowledge of database administration, design, and maintenance for SQL Server, MySQL, and MongoDB, as well as experience with database migrations and deployments.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and familiarity with Change Management processes.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modeling, as well as experience in creating interactive dashboards and visualizations.
