System Support Specialist

About the Role:

  • Data Management: Execute database administration tasks including setup, configuration, maintenance, replication, and troubleshooting.
  • Database Health Monitoring: Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, troubleshoot slow queries, replication lag, and optimize efficiency.
  • Server Operations: Manage Linux servers, oversee user access, process monitoring, cron jobs, software updates, and system resource checks.
  • Backup Procedures: Implement and monitor data backup processes using tools like mysqldump or Percona XtraBackup.
  • Patching and Maintenance: Perform routine security patching, upgrades, and hardening for databases and servers.
  • Technical Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues; escalate complex problems to senior experts with proper analysis.
  • Disaster Recovery Planning: Participate in disaster recovery drills, capacity planning, and system audits.
  • Knowledge Documentation: Create and maintain technical guides, SOPs, and knowledge base documentation.

Requirements:

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MySQL, Linux, scripting languages (Python/Perl), and database management tools.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability.
