High Voltage Cable Design Manager Role

This is a full-time position involving the technical management of high voltage cable design projects.

Applicants must have experience in EHV or HV cable design, with strong technical skills and the ability to review sourcing requests from internal customers.

  • Perform thorough reviews of sourcing requests from internal customers.
  • Design cables for EHV and HV applications.
  • Support internal customers to optimize their sourcing requests based on Supply Chain Partner capabilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Reviewing cable inquiries from customers and converting them into cable sourcing requests.
  2. Conducting technical clarifications with Supply Chain Partners.
  3. Carrying out short circuit calculations using Excel to define wire screen/metal sheath size.
  4. Completing ampacity calculations using CYMCAP to verify conductor sizes.
  5. Verifying and accepting technical data sheets from Supply Chain Partners.
  6. Recording prequalification and type test coverage of cables offered by suppliers.
  7. Ensuring all documents made available to external customers align with the Supply Chain Partner marketing strategy.
  8. Preparing Quality Control Plans and ITPs with Supply Chain Partners.
  9. Preparing the technical parts of contracts.
  10. Reviewing and accepting Quality Records from suppliers.
  11. Witnessing in-process, routine, and sample tests.
  12. Preparing type tests.
  13. Identifying and driving improvements.

Education: An engineering degree preferably in the electrical field is required.

Experience: A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience is necessary.
