Job Title: Storage Infrastructure Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Storage Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing and implementing storage solutions that meet the organization's performance, scalability, and availability requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and architect storage solutions that meet the organization's performance, scalability, and availability requirements.
  • Install, configure, and deploy storage systems, including SAN (Storage Area Network), NAS (Network-Attached Storage), and object storage platforms.
  • Plan and execute data migration projects, ensuring seamless movement of data between storage systems while minimizing disruption.
  • Monitor storage performance and proactively optimize storage resources to meet performance demands.
  • Design and implement data backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability in case of system failures or disasters.
  • Implement and maintain storage security measures, including access controls, encryption, and data retention policies.
  • Analyze storage utilization and forecast future storage needs to facilitate capacity planning and avoid storage shortages.
  • Diagnose and resolve storage-related issues, such as disk failures, connectivity problems, or performance bottlenecks.
  • Set up and maintain storage monitoring systems to promptly identify and address potential storage-related problems.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of storage configurations, procedures, and policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, network, and application teams, to ensure seamless integration and support for data storage solutions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of storage technologies, such as SAN, NAS, RAID, and object storage.
  • Experience with storage area network fabric technologies, including Fiber Channel and iSCSI.
  • Knowledge of storage virtualization and software-defined storage concepts.
  • Proficiency in storage management tools and software, such as EMC Unity, NetApp On Command, or similar.
  • Familiarity with data backup and recovery solutions, including tape libraries, disk-based backups, and cloud-based backup services.
  • Understanding of data deduplication, compression, and data lifecycle management.
  • Knowledge of storage security principles and best practices.
