Job Opportunity: Project Accounting Manager

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading project cost control initiatives, ensuring overall expenditure within approved budget and management reporting on project progress indicating variance, actual spent and forecasted cash flow.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Proper accounting of project costs, assets capitalisation, inventory management and common cost allocation to determine the true cost of a project.
  • Optimisation of state incentives, documentation, representation and transfer pricing for compliance with inter-company transactions.
  • Land availability for projects at optimal cost, partnering with treasury teams for export credit agencies and debt financing.
  • Project accounting and capitalisation: ensuring proper accounting of element-wise and stream-wise project costs, common cost allocation, finalisation of transfer pricing for inter-company transactions and asset capitalisation.
  • Project financing: partnering with treasury and banking teams for export credit agencies and debt financing at optimal cost.
  • Inventory management: continuous monitoring of project inventory, partnering with project management contractors and inventory reconciliations.
  • Incentive optimisation: optimisation of state incentives, representation to government, filing of documents and information with government as per policy and system designing in line with incentive policy requirements.
  • Risk management and compliance: identifying and assessing financial risks, developing strategies to mitigate and manage these risks effectively and efficiently and ensuring strict adherence to regulatory compliance.
  • Policies, processes and procedures: creating standard policies, processes and procedures that align with business objectives and monitoring their adherence to ensure controlled work practices.
  • People management – mentoring and developing respective teams to take larger responsibilities and efficiently perform their roles.
