We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Medical Coder to join our team.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting in-depth reviews of medical records to ensure accuracy and completeness of coding. They will also provide feedback and education to coding staff and Clinical Documentation Specialists, mentor and train other coders on DRG coding methodology, and conduct auditing experience on IP DRG, Microsoft Outlook/Excel/Word, 3M software, and NLP tool.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Medical Record Review: Conduct thorough reviews of medical records to identify accurate and complete coding information.
  • Coding Education: Provide training and education to coding staff and Clinical Documentation Specialists on DRG coding methodology and best practices.
  • Mentorship and Training: Mentor and train junior coders on DRG coding methodology and ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their job duties effectively.
  • Auditing: Conduct audits of IP DRG, Microsoft Outlook/Excel/Word, 3M software, and NLP tool to ensure compliance with coding standards and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Science preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience in IP DRG coding or auditing.
  • Certifications: Certification as CCS - Certified Coding Specialist, CIC - Certified Inpatient Coder mandatory.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure accurate and complete coding information.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with coding staff, Clinical Documentation Specialists, and other stakeholders.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility and adaptability to meet changing deadlines and priorities.
