Release Strategist

The Release Strategist plays a pivotal role in planning, coordinating and executing the release of new products or updates to existing ones within a fast-paced collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Crafting comprehensive release strategies that outline timelines, milestones, and dependencies across the release lifecycle.
  • Leading cross-functional teams including Development, QA, Operations, and Product Management to ensure alignment and preparedness for upcoming releases.
  • Identifying and mitigating potential risks or issues impacting release timelines or quality.
  • Maintaining well-documented and communicated changes according to established processes.
  • Oversight of cloud deployments in cloud environments (e.g., AWS) while ensuring security and operational policies are upheld.
  • Championing continuous integration, delivery, and deployment practices to improve release reliability and efficiency through automation and CI/CD.
  • Tracking release progress and providing regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Resolving issues during release phases to minimize disruption to operations.
  • Managing the release calendar to maintain coordination with relevant stakeholders.
  • Validated changes into main code branches while coordinating with development and QA teams.
  • Participating in Change Advisory Board (CAB) to present planned changes and secure approvals as required.
  • Assessing Go/No-Go readiness before deployment through organized meetings with stakeholders.
  • Coordinating post-release activities including performance monitoring, hotfixes, and Post-Implementation Reviews (PIR).
  • Ensuring complete and up-to-date release-related documentation meeting compliance and audit standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Certification in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect)
  • Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes)
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools
  • Strong understanding of release processes in complex, large-scale environments
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements and optimize workflows
