Healthcare Documentation Specialist

About the Role

This position plays a crucial role in optimizing healthcare provider productivity and clinic workflow by reviewing physician dictation, transcribing clinical notes into electronic medical records (EMR) and billing systems.

  • Transcribe and review complex clinical documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Prepare and assemble comprehensive medical records for healthcare providers, ensuring timely and accurate completion of charts.
  • Update patient information, including history, physical exams, and relevant health details, within EMR systems.
  • Verify and authenticate detailed data entry, facilitating smooth communication between healthcare teams.
  • Monitor laboratory results and screening procedures, ensuring prompt notification of critical findings.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and Joint Commission regulations.
  • Perform various administrative tasks to enhance provider efficiency and clinic operations as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications

To excel in this position, you will require:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in live medical transcription or a related field.
  • Excellent writing and reporting skills, with a focus on administrative documentation.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and medical record software.
  • Proficiency in typing and strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
