Cardiology Transcription Specialist

We are seeking an experienced transcription specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cardiology terms, investigations, and non-invasive procedures.

• Transcription & Documentation: Transcribe dictated recordings from cardiologists for procedures such as Echocardiograms, ECGs, Holter monitoring reports, TMT reports, Carotid Doppler, ABI studies, and other non-invasive investigations.
• Edit and Proofread: Edit and proofread transcripts for grammar, medical terminology, and formatting accuracy.

• Prepare Final Reports: Prepare final reports in the required format for patient files, EMR (electronic medical records), and consultants' review.
• Timely Delivery: Ensure timely delivery of transcribed reports to meet patient care and department deadlines.

• Cardiology-Specific Terminology: Ensure use of accurate and standardized cardiology-specific terminology.
• Common Abbreviations: Understand common abbreviations and shorthand used in cardiology dictations.
• Inconsistencies: Flag inconsistencies or unclear dictations for review by medical staff.

• Collaboration: Work closely with cardiologists, technicians, and clerical staff to streamline report workflows.
• Patient Confidentiality: Maintain confidential patient information in accordance with HIPAA / data protection guidelines.
• Audit Support: Provide support during audits or record requests by internal or external reviewers.

• Educational Requirement: Bachelor's degree in any stream (preferably life sciences).
• Certification or Diploma: Certification or diploma in medical transcription (preferred).
• Experience: Minimum 1–2 years in medical transcription, preferably in cardiology or diagnostic imaging departments.
• Speech Recognition Software: Experience with speech recognition software is an added advantage.

• Strong Understanding: Strong understanding of cardiology terms, investigations, and non-invasive procedures.
• Fast Typing: Fast and accurate typing (minimum 50–60 wpm preferred).
• Listening Comprehension: Excellent listening and comprehension of medical dictation.
• English Grammar: Strong command of English grammar and medical report formatting.
• EMR Systems: Familiarity with EMR systems and transcription software.
• Attention to Detail: Attention to detail and confidentiality handling.
