Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough assessments of students' speech, language, and communication abilities using standardised tests and informal evaluations.
- Develop and implement tailored Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) based on each student's specific needs and goals.
- Provide one-on-one and group speech therapy sessions to improve articulation, fluency, language comprehension, and expressive communication.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including special education teachers, occupational therapists, psychologists, and parents to support integrated student development.
- Monitor and document students' progress, adapting therapy plans as needed.
- Assist in the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) tools when appropriate.
- Educate and train staff and caregivers on effective communication strategies and support techniques.
- Participate in IEP meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities.
- Maintain detailed records and comply with all relevant school policies and regulatory standards.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
- Valid certification or license to practice as a Speech Therapist.
- At least 3 years of experience working with children and adults with multiple disabilities.
- Experience working with children with special needs preferred.
- Proficiency in English and Tamil languages required.
- Familiarity with assistive technology and specialised instructional strategies.
- Strong interpersonal skills and patience.
- Ability to work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams.
- Good organisational and documentation skills.
