  • Lead the design and implementation of database systems to meet business requirements, ensuring compliance with industry best practices.
  • Drive long-term architecture strategy for IT database systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to communicate and validate database architecture.
  • Develop technical designs in collaboration with development and project team members to ensure documented requirements are met within proposed solutions.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot database systems, schema, tables, indexes, procedures, and permissions.
  • Create backup and recovery strategies for databases, ensuring data integrity and availability.
  • Ensure successful SQL transactional replication, including creation, monitoring, and resolution of issues.
  • Track performance metrics of maintained databases, identifying potential capacity or performance issues and recommending changes to meet business needs.
  • Conduct regular performance tuning, indexing, and normalization of database systems.
  • Develop and test SQL scripts for task automation and reporting.
  • Provide monitoring support for critical database servers and associated services.
  • Meet project deliverables for new or modified technologies within project scope.
  • Migrate MySQL to MariaDB, administering database upgrades and patches.
  • Minimize server downtime resulting from maintenance and improvements, scheduling during non-production hours when possible.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining functionality and support, improve technology performance and stability, and enhance existing processes.
  • Patch and upgrade databases, monitor resources, and analyze system requirements.
  • Document issue resolution knowledge base and provide second- and third-level support for all database systems.
  • Be available for on-call 24/7 support.
