About the Role

We are seeking an innovative and forward-thinking Dy Manager to join our team.

  • The ideal candidate will have expertise in research, product design, development, and cost-effective manufacturing.
  • A strong understanding of current and future world trends is essential for meeting technical specifications within a reasonable price range.
  • The Dy Manager will lead the Product Development process (Innovation & Design) and drive research, originating new concepts.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Sketch ideas from concepts, draw blueprints, create development samples, select suitable raw materials, and apply basic manufacturing principles to create designs that meet customer needs.
  2. Evaluate all developments against current and future world trends to ensure they meet technical specifications at a reasonable price.
  3. Manage the functions of the Product Development process (Innovation & Design) and conduct research to originate new concepts.
  4. Solve technical issues related to new product development on a daily basis.
  5. Collaborate with internal and external parties to ensure timely availability of fabric and other materials required for sample production.
  6. Guide the team in addressing technical issues.
  7. Liaise with Dyeing and Fabric departments to arrange dyeing and fabrication of newly developed samples.
  8. Liaise with the Quality Assurance Lab to arrange quality testing of newly developed samples.
  9. Monitor stock levels of new developments and Melange shade cards.
  10. Provide technical advice and solutions to production and quality issues that arise during bulk production.
  11. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and develop product ranges accordingly.
  12. Design and develop new shade cards as needed and verify each shade card before sending it to market.
  13. Ensure proper housekeeping and maintain 5S record-keeping standards.
  14. Conduct quality assurance on all samples.
  15. Implement systems in the sample line for consistent quality and shade.
  16. Deliver shade cards to market on time.
  17. Presentation of new products to customers alongside Marketing Team members.
  18. Liaise with relevant departments to monitor the status of bulk production and address technical product failures through corrective action.
  19. Prepare costing for developments and finalize development specifications.
Requirements

An ideal candidate for this role should possess:

  • Strong knowledge of product design, development, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Bachelor's degree in Textile Science or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in textile manufacturing or related field.
