Cloud Engineer Job Description

Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent is required.

Red Hat Certified Architect, Azure Cloud Architect, AWS Cloud Architect, OCI Cloud Implementation are preferred qualifications.

A minimum of 3 years of experience in large organizations with the following skills:

  • Transformation project migration on-prem workloads to public cloud solutions.
  • Expertise in Terraform and Ansible for migrating applications to the cloud.
  • Experience in managing pipelines using Jenkins.
  • GITOPS driven configuration management and deployment.

Expertise in comparing services across public clouds is necessary.

Understanding of cloud adoption models for major cloud services CPU architectures, storage, and network connectivity is required.

Knowledge in Windows internals is a plus.

Depth knowledge in public cloud technologies is essential.

API communications (REST/Soap) and developing new consumer/publisher for any API are must-haves.

Conceptual understanding about infrastructure and how it works.

DNS (authoritative and non-authoritative DNS, dynamic and bind DNS, forwarder).

SSL Communication (handshake of SSL traffic, cipher suites, enc algorithms).

Active Directory (security OUs, policies).

Certificates (SAN, client-authentication, keystores, mutual SSL).

Load balancers / site selectors / firewall.

Vault Tools (CyberArk / Hashicorp).

High Availability.

Excellent hands-on experience in configuration management, orchestration, and IaC tools (Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform).

Scripting skills in Groovy, Bash/Powershell, and Python are must-haves.

Understanding of repository and artifact management tools (Red Hat Satellite, Spacewalk, Nexus).

Container Technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).

ELK and its beats (audit beat, file beat).

OS Compliance Policies (CIS Benchmark).

Agile methodologies and ceremonies.

Strategic Thinking and Research and Development mindset.

Adequate understanding of project management methodologies.

Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).

This role requires a strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, architecture, and best practices.

The ideal candidate will have experience with cloud-based platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

They will also possess excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is required.

Additionally, the candidate should have experience with DevOps tools, such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Knowledge of cloud security, compliance, and governance is a plus.

The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines.
