Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our team and help shape the backend of a live, regulated financial platform.

This is a full-time contract role focused on core features, transactions, and secure APIs all powering a product built for real customers and regulatory scrutiny.

The ideal candidate will have experience in financial services and strong skills in TypeScript/Node.js, with hands-on experience with AWS Lambda and serverless patterns.

In addition, the successful candidate will have a solid understanding of building secure, documented REST APIs and be able to work independently and communicate clearly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Building and extending backend services using TypeScript/Node.js
  • Writing transactional business logic for financial flows (e.g. onboarding, withdrawals)
  • Designing and maintaining PostgreSQL schemas, migrations, and queries
  • Integrating with third-party APIs securely (OAuth2, JWT)
  • Improving existing systems for performance, reliability, and audit requirements
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of backend engineering experience, ideally in financial services
  • Strong TypeScript/Node.js skills, productive from day one
  • Hands-on with AWS Lambda and serverless patterns
  • PostgreSQL experience, schema design, performance tuning, real-world queries
  • Solid understanding of building secure, documented REST APIs
