About the Role:

The Medical Coding Trainer and Performance Coach plays a key role in driving quality and performance excellence within the medical coding team. This individual will be responsible for delivering high-quality training, mentoring, and coaching to new hires as well as ongoing support to current team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective training programs to ensure new hires meet quality and productivity standards.
  • Mentor and coach team members on medical coding concepts, client-specific guidelines, and quality control processes.
  • Monitor trainee productivity and quality against established targets and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
  • Educate team members on regular coding updates, client specifications, and quality control best practices.
  • Conduct one-on-one sessions to address and correct repeated errors and provide personalized coaching for growth and development.
  • Communicate trainee performance insights to leadership and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Support early confirmation of trainees by providing valuable performance input to leadership.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in medical coding, specifically in IVR specialty.
  • Training Expertise: Proven experience in coaching and training as per structured processes.
  • Strategy Skills: Ability to design and implement varied training and coaching strategies.
  • Certifications: Must hold valid coding certifications such as CPC, CCS, COC, or AHIMA.
  • Education: Graduate in any discipline.
