Job Overview:

  • RNM India is a leading tax advisory firm seeking a highly skilled and experienced Indirect Tax Manager to join our team in Delhi.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Goods and Services Tax (GST), Customs, and Foreign Trade Policy, with proven expertise in advisory, litigation, and compliance.
  • This role will involve working closely with clients to identify indirect tax issues, provide strategic guidance, and drive successful outcomes in various tax planning opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advisory and Compliance: Provide expert advice on GST, Customs, and Foreign Trade Policy, including compliance, litigation up to the Tribunal level, and involvement in reorganizations, due diligence, crossborder strategies, and other tax planning opportunities.
  • Client Engagement: Meet with clients to discuss indirect tax/GST issues, and provide tailored solutions to optimize their tax position.
  • Representation in Legal Matters:

  • Prepare and represent clients in Show Cause Notices and Appeals before Adjudicating and Appellate Authorities.
  • Reporting and Opinion Drafting:

  • Prepare detailed reports and opinions related to indirect taxes/GST for clients.
  • Tax Strategy Development:

  • Participate in the planning and development of indirect tax strategies to optimize tax incidence and support business objectives.
  • Professional Development:

  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay updated with the latest tax laws and regulations.
  • Business Development Support:

  • Assist the business development team in identifying target industries and sectors.
  • Brand Development:

  • Contribute to the development of the RNM brand through active participation in internal and external activities.
  • Team Leadership:

  • Leverage technical proficiency to advise, guide, and mentor team members.
  • Stakeholder Meetings:

  • Attend client and stakeholder meetings alongside the Tax team.
  • Strategic Support:

  • Assist Partners with the formulation and implementation of tax strategies and risk management plans.
  • Travel Requirements:

  • Local travel may be required to meet with clients and stakeholders.
  • Additional Projects:

  • Participate in other projects and tasks as assigned by management.

Skills and Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of GST, Customs, and Foreign Trade Policy.
  • Strong advisory and litigation skills, with experience in dealing with tax authorities.
  • Excellent client-facing skills, with the ability to communicate complex tax matters clearly and effectively.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement tax strategies that optimize tax incidence.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
