Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Consultant to join our Direct Taxation team. As a key member of the team, you will provide expert advice on domestic and international tax matters, and play a vital role in the growth and expansion of the Direct Tax division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in tax litigation, including appeals at CIT (A), DRP, and ITAT levels.
  • Manage tax investigations, including search and seizure cases, representation before the Intelligence & Criminal Investigation (I&CI) division, and cases under the Black Money Law.
  • Prepare legal and factual submissions for representation before assessment authorities, including eassessments and reassessments.
  • Draft and submit applications to competent authorities on tax treaty matters.
  • Provide litigation support by assisting Senior Counsels in appeals/petitions before the High Court and Supreme Court.
  • Offer strategic advice on Corporate Tax Planning, including complex tax matters, business reconstruction, and compliance.
  • Provide expertise on international tax matters such as crossborder transactions, DTAA, transfer pricing, permanent establishments, inbound/outbound issues, repatriations, etc.
  • Build strong relationships with senior management across diverse industries, acting as their trusted advisor.
  • Lead complex tax engagements, from planning to execution, ensuring highquality deliverables and timely response to client needs.
  • Develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including tax authorities.
  • Drive the growth and expansion of the Direct Tax division.
  • Build, coach, and inspire a highperforming team. Focus on talent retention and team development by bridging learning gaps and fostering collaboration.
  • Represent the firm at tax seminars, forums, and other industry events, and contribute thought leadership through articles and publications.
  • Champion knowledgesharing initiatives and continuously improve processes to enhance team and firm Chartered Accountant with over 12 years of relevant experience in Direct Taxation (Litigation/Advisory).
  • Strong preference for candidates with prior experience in leading/directing tax litigation at reputed consulting, CA, or law firms, or in an industry setting with both litigation and advisory experience.
  • Expertise in representation before CIT (A), and involvement in ITAT representation will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong presentation skills.
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills that foster trust and effective business relationships.
  • Commercial acumen, problemsolving skills, and a strong ethical compass.
  • Networking and business development capabilities, with a record of growing divisions and leveraging technology for process improvements.
