Job Title: Production Chemist for Efficient Process Optimization

The ideal candidate will be responsible for collaborating with the production team to ensure the successful execution of chemical production batches. This involves closely adhering to standard operating procedures to guarantee accurate and consistent product quality.

This role requires the ability to safely manage pyrophoric reagents, Raney nickel, and operate pressure reactors (autoclave) in line with company policies. Additionally, you will perform filtration of low-melting solids, ensuring optimal filtration techniques are applied. Any deviations from specifications will need to be reported, and you will work with the senior chemist to troubleshoot and rectify issues.

A key aspect of this role is maintaining accurate records of production activities, including batch records, test results, and any deviations from standard procedures. You will also generate reports and summaries as required by the production and quality control teams.

Another essential responsibility is adhering to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment. Identifying and reporting any safety hazards or concerns promptly is also crucial.

You will operate production equipment such as reactors, mixers, and filters, and perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure functionality. Effective communication with cross-functional teams, including production, quality control, and research and development, is vital to ensure a smooth production process.

Process improvement initiatives require active participation to enhance efficiency and product quality. Proposing ideas for optimizing production workflows is an essential part of this role.

Qualifications and experience include an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in chemistry [B. Sc (Chemistry)/ M. Sc (Chemistry)] from a reputed university with high academic achievements. Up to 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical production sector is required. Strong willingness to learn, adapt, and work effectively as part of a team is necessary. A desire to gain experience in leading and contributing to production is also expected.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, are required. Strong problem-solving abilities and a creative mindset to drive innovation and overcome scientific challenges are also essential.

Physical demands include strong visual acuity to detect subtle changes in processes, fine motor skills for precise operation and adjustment of production equipment, and the ability to sustain focus for extended periods. Physical endurance to stand or move across the production floor for prolonged durations, handling machinery and monitoring production activities is also required.
