Automation Tester Role

About This Opportunity:

This is a key position within our organization where you will be responsible for developing and maintaining automated test scripts.

The successful candidate will be skilled in automation testing, with experience in Guidewire functional and automation testing, as well as knowledge of programming languages such as TypeScript and JavaScript.

They will also have hands-on experience with automation tools like Playwright, Taiko, Cypress, and Selenium, as well as Git repository management.

This role requires strong communication and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to estimate test effort and report on metrics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain in-sprint automated test scripts for UI, API, and integration testing.
  • Align test scripts with acceptance criteria and user stories.
  • Execute automated tests, log defects with detailed reproduction steps, and support defect triage.
  • Create and manage test data and environment configurations for automation.
  • Identify and maintain reusable scripts for system-level and regression testing.
  • Contribute to the automation regression suite and maintain automation assets.
  • Collaborate with developers and senior QA engineers to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Follow automation best practices and participate in peer reviews.
  • Prepare and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM).
  • Support manual testing efforts when required, including test planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Track and report QA metrics such as defect rates, test coverage, and productivity.
Requirements:
  • 1–3 years of experience in Guidewire functional and automation testing.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Guidewire policy center projects.
  • Hands-on experience with type-script automation tools such as Playwright, Taiko or JavaScript based frameworks such as Cypress/Selenium.
  • Hands on experience in Programming based Test Automation toolset and should be part of Test Design for minimum of 2 Years.
  • Hands on Experience in working with Git Repository.
  • Independently handle Test Code issue resolution, updates & Debugging.
  • Exposure to QA lifecycle tools such as HP ALM, JIRA, or equivalent.
  • Understanding of defect lifecycle management and test standards.
  • Experience in test effort estimation and metrics reporting.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge on CI / CD
  • Knowledge of API & API testing tools like Karate, Postman or RestAssured.
Preferred Skills:
  • Exposure to unit testing and mobile testing.
  • Experience in improving test coverage and test strategy.
  • Familiarity with performance testing tools & CI/CD tools should be good.
