Hitachi Storage Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hitachi storage specialist to join our team.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Manage the day-to-day administration of SAN and storage environments, including collaborating with customer support teams, participating in problem solving and troubleshooting, supporting design, operation, workflow, and issue resolution for the storage infrastructure, maintaining systems level maintenance for storage infrastructure, tracking existing storage usage trending and capacity planning for future growth, maintaining storage documentation, procedures, and reporting, providing Storage Area Network Configuration and Administration, and allocating storage to server infrastructure.
  • Manage infrastructure events, including capacity management, monitoring storage subsystem and SAN switch capacity, performing capacity analysis, analyzing performance data and trends, tracking existing storage usage trending and capacity planning for future growth, and maintaining storage documentation, procedures, and reporting.
  • Resolve problems, including preliminary problem diagnosis and documentation, coordinating with Hitachi Global Support for incident resolution, investigating and diagnosing raised problem(s) or problem records for root cause analysis, and performing necessary storage infrastructure maintenance in accordance with best practices from Hitachi Global Support and Company change management policies.
  • Mentor and train junior administrators.
  • Oversee the design, installation, configuration, and de-provisioning of storage solutions.
  • Perform performance management for SAN and storage, including capacity tuning, providing remediation recommendations, and monitoring IT service continuity.
  • Provide disaster recovery solutions as it relates to SAN and NAS storage by developing and maintaining a library of procedures for disaster recovery documentation, managing data movement and replication, and conducting business resumption testing (DR) for storage.
  1. Key Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in handling majority of activities mentioned in the scope above.
  • Experience in handling Hitachi storages and Brocade switches infrastructure.
  • Exposure to operations and management activities on Hitachi Storage(s), unified compute platforms, various host O/S including basic cluster management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Hitachi technical certification is desirable.
