This job post is for a highly skilled Line Cook to join our team.
Job Title: Line CookThe ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in an upscale hotel, resort, or cruise ship service, with at least 2 years as a Line Cook (shipboard experience preferred).
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare all basic food items for the menu requested by their supervisor.
- Advanced knife handling skills are a must.
- Must be able to work in any section of a kitchen.
- Familiarity with culinary terms and knowledge of food is required.
- Must be able to read, understand, follow, and prepare company recipes.
- Efficient completion of tasks, productivity, and proficiency in effecting work are essential.
- Public Health regulations according to company standards must be followed within their section.
- The assigned area must be maintained in preparation for inspections.
- Reports for duty at assigned times, follows supervisor's instructions, and adheres to company rules regarding personal appearance, uniform, and hygiene.
- Cost containment through proper use, handling, and maintenance of records, reports, supplies, and equipment is the responsibility of this position.
- This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.
- A culinary school degree is required.
- Strong management skills in a multicultural environment are necessary.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and people skills are required.
- Superior customer service, teambuilding, and conflict resolution skills are necessary.
- Knowledge of personalized services, including needs assessment techniques, quality service standards, alternative delivery systems, and guest satisfaction evaluation techniques.
- Strong planning, coaching, organizing, staffing, controlling, and evaluating skills are required.
- Intermediate computer software skills are necessary.
- A good understanding of basic accounting principles, such as numbering flow, debits/credits, adjusting entries, and corrections, is required.
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence and establish a good rapport with Senior Officers and corporate office staff.
