About the Position:

The selected candidate will be an integral part of our international tax team, responsible for assisting clients with a wide range of corporate tax issues and tax advisories. This role involves evaluating jurisprudence, analyzing transactions from an income-tax and FEMA perspective, dealing with tax controversy and litigation matters, and providing support to senior team members.

Responsibilities:

  1. Client engagement management and assignment handling
  2. End-to-end client engagement related to Direct Tax Laws, including tax structuring, advisory, compliance, and litigation support
  3. Independent analysis, research, and interpretation of technical issues under the Income Tax Act and International Tax
  4. Representing clients in assessments, appeals, and other income-tax proceedings
  5. Maintaining open litigation status, tax risks analysis, and defense strategy on an ongoing basis
  6. Drafting submissions for tax assessments, appeals, penalties, show cause, revisions, orders, refunds, recovery, rectification, and other income-tax proceedings
  7. Developing strong relationships with client management
  8. Assisting seniors in executing and managing assigned engagements with team support
  9. Proactive problem-solving for client tax matters
  10. Identifying opportunities in existing client pursuits and endeavoring to convert them
  11. Coordinating with seniors and partners on assignment planning and management
  12. Providing timely and high-quality services while managing client expectations
  13. Updating clients on ongoing matters on a prompt and regular basis, keeping track of industry developments
  14. Attending technical sessions as per learning and development initiatives
  15. Effectively and cordially handling team members
