Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Tax Associate to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in providing expert tax advice and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare complex tax returns, including personal, corporate, and trust income tax returns.
  • Apply provisions of the US tax treaty to cross-border transactions.
  • Assist with sales tax filings and registrations.
  • Collaborate closely with partners and senior staff to develop and implement effective tax strategies.
  • Establish relationships with clients and gain a solid understanding of their business needs.
  • Develop and apply process management expertise to manage projects during tax season.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in preparing and/or reviewing 1040 personal income tax returns and 1120 corporate income tax returns.
  • Public accounting experience, preferably in tax.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with clients for their tax matters.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • Possession of a Master's of Commerce is an asset.
  • Ability to work as an effective member of a team and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
