Senior Design Engineer – Pressure Control Equipment Specialist

Seeking a seasoned senior design engineer to lead the development of pressure control equipment. This is a critical role requiring expertise in API 6A standards and surface pressure control equipment design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of pressure control equipment per API 6A standards.
  • Design, develop and maintain detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and BOMs using CAD tools like Inventor or Vault.
  • Conduct FEA and other mechanical calculations to validate designs ensuring compliance with API 6A, ASME, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, sales, and supply chain.
  • Provide engineering support for prototype testing, failure analysis, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Participate in design reviews, DFMEAs, and engineering change processes.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal engineering standards and best practices.
  • Assist in preparing technical documentation and presenting findings to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (required); Master's preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering in the oil & gas industry.
  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with API 6A product design and certification processes.
  • Proficiency in INVENTOR, VAULT, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and engineering analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with ASME Section VIII, API 6A, and API Q1 standards is essential.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and excellent problem-solving skills.
