Interior Cockpit Engineer

Job Overview:

This is a high-level engineering position focused on the design and development of interior trims and cockpit consoles.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the development and implementation of interior trim designs, ensuring alignment with vehicle program objectives.
  • Establish and maintain design maturity from concept to engineering sign-off, facilitating gateways and milestones.
  • Develop and execute plans for teamwork, aligned with vehicle program requirements.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance of systems, subsystems, and components, maintaining up-to-date quality records.
  • Define engineering targets to meet function, quality, and attribute requirements for the Vehicle Program.
  • Develop and manage design validation plans (DVP), including in-house and supplier testing plans, ensuring timely completion of development signoff tests.
  • Lead Failure Mode Avoidance activities, including DFMEA, quality history reviews, and DFA/DFM reviews.
  • Responsible for resolving design, attribute, or packaging incompatibilities through cross-functional meetings.
  • Manage Suppliers to ensure timely delivery of system/components, meeting attribute targets.
  • Support Purchasing team in Sourcing and RFQ activities, creating ESOWs, CAD SOWs, PDSs, and ESIs.
  • Assist with vehicle launch and pre-production builds (both virtual and physical).
  • Apply APQP principles to manage system/component delivery, ensuring successful project outcomes.
  • Coordinate Project Scope Work (PSW) planning from project start to sign off, ensuring smooth project execution.
