The role involves ensuring that websites, mobile apps, and digital documents meet stringent compliance requirements under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), and Section 508.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment: Conduct thorough audits of websites, portals, Learning Management Systems (LMS), documents (Word, PowerPoint, PDFs), and multimedia content to identify areas for improvement
  • Testing: Perform real-user testing using screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack) and keyboard-only navigation to ensure seamless accessibility
  • Remediation: Provide actionable recommendations and hands-on support to remediate issues in PDFs and Office documents, videos and multimedia, third-party platforms, and LMS content
  • Guidance: Collaborate with developers to implement accessible coding practices, including ARIA, semantic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Documentation: Prepare VPATs/ACRs and client-facing accessibility conformance documentation
  • Consulting: Advise clients on ADA, Section 508, WCAG 2.1/2.2, and emerging US/state accessibility laws
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Expertise: Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1/2.2, ADA Title II/III, Section 504/508
  • Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, Axe, WAVE, SiteImprove, Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Coding Proficiency: Proficiency in HTML5, ARIA, CSS3, JavaScript (React/Angular a plus)
  • Documentation: Strong documentation/reporting skills (audit findings, VPAT/ACR)
  • Industry Experience: Experience supporting federal, state, or higher education contracts preferred
Preferred Certifications:
  • IAAP CPWA (Certified Professional in Web Accessibility)
  • IAAP WAS (Web Accessibility Specialist)
  • IAAP ADS (Accessible Document Specialist)
  • DHS Section 508 Trusted Tester
  • IAAP CPACC (Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies)
