Job Description

The role of a Lead Architect involves overseeing the development of architectural designs for large and complex projects. This includes coordinating with concept design teams, guiding the refinement of selected design options, and ensuring that all required drawings and reports are completed.

The successful candidate will have strong experience and a track record in developing architectural designs for high-complexity projects. They will also have an in-depth knowledge of international engineering standards and codes, as well as exposure to global best practices and trends in the field.

In addition to their technical skills, the Lead Architect must possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills, proven leadership and problem-solving abilities, and a strong attention to detail.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture
  • Master's Degree in Architecture or related field preferred
  • 10+ years of industry experience in architectural design function
  • Strong experience in Revit Architecture, BIM 360, AutoCAD, and MS Office

Key Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate with concept design teams for complex designs as needed
  2. Guide the refinement of selected design options into schematic and final designs including all required drawings and reports
  3. Closely work with stakeholders for design value engineering for complex projects as needed
  4. Closely work with Project Managers for review and validation of design deliverables for medium to high complexity projects capturing feedback and obtaining approvals as needed
  5. Closely work with Quantity Surveying Department for development of tender documents including specifications Bills of Quantities and Conditions of Contract and provide support during the tender process as needed
  6. Closely work with project teams for reviewing design deliverables of design projects including conducting detailed reviews and checks and issuing checking reports as needed
  7. Support Project Managers in developing reviewing and updating work programs and man-hour estimates and in managing changes in project scope schedule or budgets as needed
  8. Support Project Managers in managing project budgets resource allocation and project schedules as needed
  9. Support Project Managers in managing project contractual risks as needed
  10. Support Project Managers in managing external suppliers and subcontracts and in ensuring adherence of their deliverables with project scope schedule and budget
  11. Assist Project Managers in monitoring and managing the projects budget and schedule as needed
  12. Provide support to Project Managers in developing periodic progress reports as needed
  13. Assist Project Managers with implementing quality control policies and procedures on design deliverables and conduct peer reviews on team members deliverables
  14. Support during the supervision stage as needed including responding to RFIs and solving design conflicts in coordination with local design support teams
