As part of the team, you'll play a critical role in shaping Target's digital experience by increasing ease, simplicity, value, and delight across every touchpoint.

The **Role Overview** for this position is to lead the full design process from discovery to asset delivery. You'll work closely with engineers to fine-tune details and create intuitive automation flows that enhance usability. Your expertise will inform design directions aligned with automation goals, ensuring designs meet or exceed global standards for enterprise applications.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Own the full design process, collaborating closely with engineers to refine details.
  • Create elegant design solutions that simplify complex processes, making automation more accessible and efficient for users.
  • Utilize data and business insights to inform design directions that drive significant value improvement.
  • Take ownership of user experience, ensuring designs meet global standards for enterprise applications.
  • Design user interfaces and experiences that optimize the use of RPA and workflow automation tools.
  • Integrate Lean UX methodologies with Information Architecture to optimize design processes within agile environments.
  • Define and contribute to design processes, disciplines, and tools that streamline collaboration between teams.
  • Analyze raw data, effectively communicating impacts through clear data visualizations.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve automation and RPA solutions.
  • Work seamlessly with cross-functional teams, including Product Designers, Engineers, Product Managers, and UX Researchers.
  • Consult with other teams to ensure cohesive user experiences across various touchpoints.
  • Contribute to the pattern library maintained by the design systems team, ensuring consistency across automation solutions.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to other product designers, helping them navigate the complexities of designing for automation and RPA.

**Requirements and Qualifications:**

  • 10+ years of UX design experience with a focus on enterprise applications, preferably in automation or RPA.
  • A strong portfolio featuring digital design work, including in-depth case studies that demonstrate a modern, clean design approach.
  • Experience shipping digital products (web, apps, or software) within the automation or RPA space.
  • Expertise in modern design tools (such as Figma, Miro) and a deep understanding of prototyping and collaboration workflows.
  • Proficiency in data visualization: ability to translate complex data into user-friendly designs that enhance the automation experience.
  • Strong collaboration and influence skills: proven ability to work well within large organizations and with diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication skills: ability to articulate and defend design decisions with logic, grace, and data-driven insights.
  • Ability to translate technical requirements: simplify complex technical requirements into engaging and user-friendly design solutions.
