PCB CAD Engineer

Description:

We are seeking a skilled PCB CAD engineer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining PCB CAD libraries, generating footprints, validating BOMs, and collaborating with design engineers and manufacturing teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of CAD tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, Mentor Graphics Expedition, or OrCAD/Capture CIS. Additionally, experience with PLM systems like Windchill, Target PLM, Teamcenter, or Cockpit Server is highly desirable.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy of pin sequencing and package details by cross-checking datasheets, schematics, and footprints. Your attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently will make you an excellent fit for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Maintain PCB CAD Libraries: Create and update schematic symbols, footprints, and parametric data using Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, Mentor Graphics Expedition, or OrCAD/Capture CIS.
  • Generate Footprints: Create footprints for SMD, THT, connectors, and complex IC packages as per IPC-7351 standards.
  • Validate BOMs: Verify electrical attributes, package information, and component descriptions.
  • Process New Part Requests: Use PLM systems like Windchill, Target PLM, Teamcenter, or Cockpit Server to process new part requests and maintain library updates.
  • Cross-check Datasheets and Schematics: Ensure accuracy in pin sequencing and package details by cross-checking datasheets, schematics, and footprints.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work with design engineers, manufacturing teams, and suppliers to ensure manufacturability and compliance.

Required Skills & Tools:

  • CAD Tools: Proficiency in Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, Mentor Graphics Expedition, or OrCAD/Capture CIS.
  • PLM Systems: Experience with Windchill, Target PLM, Teamcenter, or Cockpit Server.
  • Standards & Compliance: Understanding of IPC-7351 for footprint creation and validation, as well as RoHS and REACH compliance.
  • Library Management: Creation and maintenance of schematic symbols, footprints, and 3D models, BOM validation, and part numbering systems, and use of footprint calculators like LP Wizard and Footprint Expert.
