Job Title: Circuit Board Design Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Circuit Board Design Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating high-quality printed circuit boards (PCBs) that meet our organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Validate PCBs:
  • Create detailed designs of PCBs, taking into account electrical, design for assembly (DFA), and design for manufacturing (DFM) constraints.
  • Develop and validate printed circuit board libraries in line with organizational standards.
  • Perform schematic capture and ensure design correctness, considering electrical, DFA, and DFM constraints.
  • Execute component placement, ensuring a robust design while considering electrical, DFA, and DFM constraints.
  • Develop power split plans and ensure a robust design for power delivery, including controlled impedance and length-tuning as required.
  • Carry out PCB routing with controlled impedance and length-tuning as required to ensure signal integrity and power integrity.
  • Handle the complete post-Gerber process with fabrication and assembly readiness, ensuring compliance with design rules and regulations.
  • Define and calculate layer stack-ups for various board designs, considering materials selection and HDI technologies.
  • Work with high-density interconnect (HDI) technologies, including blind/buried vias and high-speed peripherals.
  • Apply design for excellence (DFX) guidelines during design and carry out validation reviews to ensure compliance with SI/PI requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Hands-on experience with leading PCB design tools, such as Allegro, Altium, and Mentor Graphics.
  • Strong knowledge of constraints setting, routing, and post-layout checks to ensure design accuracy and efficiency.
  • Experience with signal integrity and power integrity validation methodologies to ensure reliable and efficient PCB performance.
  • Proven expertise in multi-layer PCB stack-up design and materials selection to ensure optimal board performance.
  • Familiarity with HDI techniques, blind/buried vias, and high-speed interfaces to ensure seamless integration with other system components.
  • Good understanding of DFM, DFA, and design for test (DFT) considerations in PCB design to ensure manufacturability and reliability.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure accurate and efficient PCB design.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment to ensure effective communication and project success.
