Key role of Data Platform Engineer is to design and build scalable data platforms using software engineering skills.

This is a hands-on technical position requiring deep technical involvement in building, deploying, and maintaining the data platform.

  • Expertise in programming with focus on Python and computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and system design.
  • Proven problem-solving ability with a focus on writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.

Understanding of data platforms is essential, including end-to-end architecture from ingestion to consumption.

  • Hands-on experience building and scaling data platforms in production environments.

Leverage AWS services such as Amazon EMR, AWS Glue, and Amazon S3 to build modern data lake/data warehouse architecture.

  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS services relevant to data engineering.

Proficiency in building event-driven systems using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and Amazon SQS/SNS is required.

  • Ability to integrate these services into scalable and decoupled data pipelines and microservices.

Familiarity with microservices-based architectures is necessary, including service communication, deployment strategies, and monitoring.
