Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead timely and accurate filing of all direct (Income Tax, TDS) and indirect tax returns (GST, VAT, etc.) to ensure compliance.
  • Oversee tax computations, reconciliations, and payments in adherence with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for assessments and audits, ensuring seamless coordination.
Tax Planning & Advisory:
  • Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies aligned with business objectives and regulatory guidelines to drive growth.
  • Advise senior management on the tax implications of strategic decisions, investments, or transactions, providing informed guidance.
  • Evaluate cross-border transactions for tax exposure and optimize transfer pricing policies to minimize risk.
Tax Audits & Litigation:
  • Manage income tax, GST, and other tax assessments and audits by tax authorities, ensuring prompt responses and effective representation.
  • Prepare thorough responses to notices, represent the company in hearings, and manage litigation with support from legal counsel, maintaining a strong defense.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and evidence for tax positions taken, facilitating efficient dispute resolution.
Transfer Pricing & International Taxation (if applicable):
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive transfer pricing documentation and reports, adhering to OECD guidelines and local regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with international operations, coordinating with global tax advisors for cross-border transactions and BEPS-related filings.
  • Optimize transfer pricing policies to align with business objectives, minimizing tax liabilities and ensuring seamless cross-border transactions.
Internal Controls & Process Improvement:
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls over tax processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Monitor tax risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize exposure, enhancing overall financial stability.
  • Automate tax processes through ERP systems and tax tools where feasible, streamlining operations and reducing manual errors.
Key Requirements:

Education:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Master's degree in Taxation/Finance/Law, demonstrating expertise.
  • Additional qualifications like LL.B. or diploma in international taxation are highly valued.

Experience:

  • 7–12 years of relevant tax experience, including in-house or Big 4/consulting experience, showcasing leadership capabilities.
  • Solid knowledge of Indian tax laws (Direct Tax, GST) and international tax principles, with a focus on strategic planning and execution.

Skills:

  • Strong technical knowledge of tax regulations, assessments, and compliance, with a focus on process improvement.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills, enabling effective collaboration and decision-making.
  • Proficiency in tax software, MS Excel, and ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, etc.), with a focus on automation and efficiency.
