Job Title: Mechanical Design Specialist

We are seeking a skilled mechanical design specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex mechanical systems and equipment.

You will collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to determine design requirements, plan and execute the design of precision mechanical equipment, develop and test prototypes, and work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure that design specifications are met.

This is an excellent opportunity to leverage your mathematical and mechanical skills to solve problems in engineering design and contribute to industry development.

The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, along with a deep understanding of engineering and design principles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meeting with vendors and design teams to determine mechanical applications and requirements.
  • Collaborating with project managers to determine project requirements.
  • Conducting research to inform the design and engineering methods required for mechanical systems.
  • Planning and executing mechanical designs using CAD, CAM, and 3D CAD programs.
  • Performing computer simulations and experiments to virtually test and refine designs.
  • Overseeing the development and manufacturing of physical prototypes for testing.
  • Documenting the design process, iterations, and test analytics.
  • Liaising with designers, engineers, and manufacturers to ensure coherence.
  • Preparing technical reports, design specifications documents, and operational manuals.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a mechanical design engineer.
  • Proficiency with engineering design programs such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, and Rhino etc.
  • Solid knowledge of design and engineering principles and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Attention to detail and critically minded approach.
