Job Title: Head IP – Risk and Protection

The primary objective of this role is to identify potential areas for Intellectual Property (IP) legal risk, plan and execute risk mitigation strategies, and strengthen the culture of technology and innovation through IP.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review new product designs and identify potential IP legal risks, develop plans to mitigate these risks, and implement measures to strengthen the culture of technology and innovation through IP.
  • Develop search strategies and conduct search analysis for Freedom to Operate (FTO), State-of-the-Art (SOA), invalidation, opposition, and litigation purposes.
  • Perform advanced technology and analysis, including competitive intelligence analysis, design IP protection of transportation design and engineering across business clusters.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Graduate / PG / PhD qualification in Engineering (Mechanical / Electronics / Automotive / Material Science).
  • Additional qualifications such as WON, WIPO DL101, DFSS, Qualified Patent Agent Exam will be an advantage.

  • Release periodic IP alerts - review and dispose concerns from stakeholders, effectively build conviction with stakeholders, and manage projects/business clusters independently.
