Data Protection Specialist

The role of the Data Protection Specialist involves being part of a dedicated 24/7 IT operations team, responsible for ensuring seamless backup processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintaining and optimizing complex backup solutions, encompassing virtual libraries, disk-to-disk backup systems, physical tape libraries, operating systems, backup software, switches, SAN or library components.
- Providing support and troubleshooting for backup, recovery, and archiving in a large, complex environment.
- Analyzing daily backup failures, identifying root causes, and resolving issues systematically to achieve a high success rate.
- At least 5 years of experience in enterprise backup Commvault troubleshooting or administration.
- Fundamental network knowledge.
- Understanding of tape rotation and management on physical tape libraries within backup environments.
- D2D and/or physical library backup products – StoreOnce, MSL tape libraries, or equivalents.
- Proficiency in at least one operating system.
The ideal candidate will possess a balance of well-developed troubleshooting, technical communication, and written skills, along with extensive product knowledge and skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, including self-starters, customer service, problem-solving, innovation, collaboration, negotiation, and diplomacy skills, are also essential.
Preferred Qualifications:- Knowledge of remote support and monitoring processes and concepts.
- Tools knowledge on ServiceNow.
- ITIL certification.
