Job Description

This is a senior position responsible for managing and driving the standardization of global processes in accordance with business needs and best practices.

  • The job holder will be responsible for ensuring that processes are managed consistently across regions, delivering efficiencies and cost savings.
  • They will also align the business process with agreed Harsco business systems and Oracle ERP fundamental principles.
  • In addition, they will ensure consistency in the Oracle solution deployed globally in the finance area and co-ordinate for procurement and operations.
  • The job holder will also ensure that all statutory accounting is brought within the solution (accounting and reporting).
  • Further, they will raise any change request to Oracle team with an understanding of requirements and benefits/implications and alignment with process/user experience.

Process Improvement and Continuous Enhancement

  • The job holder will drive continuous improvement initiatives for accounting processes.
  • They will ensure SOPs created for all processes in all locations at country level and at centralized Shared Services.
  • Furthermore, they will manage the repository and centralisation of all SOPs globally.
  • Additionally, they will ensure deployment of SOPs is harmoniously embedded in the Oracle implementation process (training, sharing and explanation).
  • Moreover, they will monitor global processes, ensuring optimal uptake of system automation.
  • Also, they will ensure continuous update of processes globally - communicating with all finance/accounting and operations stakeholders - proposing/assessing improvements.
  • In this regard, they will ensure that the Global Chart of Account and statutory accounts are correctly updated.
  • Mentorship and Supervision
  • The job holder will champion the efficient and effective use of Oracle ERP.
  • They will supervise the training program for Oracle Finance and co-ordinate with procurement and operations.
  • Furthermore, they will work closely with the Shared Services/Regional Finance Directors/Oracle IT Team/Coordination with the procurement and asset maintenance departments.

Project Management

  • The job holder will communicate and monitor the timely delivery of business stream tasks (Oracle implementation).
  • They will ensure proper deployment of modifications or enhancements of the processes (post Oracle implementation).
  • Moreover, they will act as a single point of accountability for the processes' effectiveness and efficiency across various geographical locations and departments.
  • Also, they will ensure alignment of Business process with business Strategy.
  • In this role, they will be responsible for managing process performance, identifying inefficiencies, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring the harmonization of the processes across all regions and functions.
  • The job holder will work with limited supervision; normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work and general instructions on new assignments.
  • Qualifications & Experience
  • An MBA Finance from a premium institute or CWA with more than 10 years of relevant experience.
  • A working knowledge of Oracle ERP.
  • Project Management/Process Design experience.
