Job Description

As a key member of the Goodyear leadership team, the Strategic Business Leader will oversee the operations of the Goodyear Technology Center in India. This role will be responsible for ensuring the quality of services delivered to internal and external business partners, aligning with established service level agreements and budgets.

Reporting directly to the Sr. Vice President & Chief Digital Officer, the Strategic Business Leader will play a vital role in creating long-term relationships with customers, acting as a bridge between internal and external business partners and operational teams. This will involve managing and performing service delivery center teams and external vendors to support the India center.

The incumbent will also drive standardization and continuous improvement in processes and services to realize efficiencies and meet critical business needs. In addition, they will provide governance for digital, core engineering, software engineering, and IT services, as well as service management, incident and change management, and business partner satisfaction.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Directing the overall operations of the Goodyear Technology Center to meet critical business needs and ensure quality service delivery.
  2. Ensuring operations are conducted in accordance with Goodyear's enterprise-wide standards, policies, and documented processes.
  3. Building strong relationships with customers to understand functional needs and fulfill them through solutions development.
  4. Developing and attaining metrics aligned with key customer goals and objectives.
  5. Continuously improving operational efficiency and effectiveness for the Goodyear Technology Center.
  6. Promoting the pursuit of common master data, standard processes, and measures, as well as maintaining and sharing the company's best practices.
  7. Actively driving the evolution of a common service delivery infrastructure and operations for key areas such as IT, Digital, and Engineering processes.
  8. Driving associate engagement, implementing a reward and recognition culture, and aligning delivery with Corporate Value Proposition (CVP).
  9. Talent development and retention of high-performing and high-potential staff, with a focus on succession.
  10. Supporting the team in designing, creating, implementing, and maintaining effective information systems that support the company's business objectives.
  11. Partnering with local, regional, and global stakeholders and the Goodyear Technology Center Leadership team to develop strategic direction for the center and achieve the vision and mission.
  12. Accountable for the Goodyear Technology Center leadership profit and loss (P/L).
  13. Serving as Chairman of the Board for the statutory entity, leading/presiding over Board of Directors (BOD) meetings, and ensuring the BOD plays an active role in strategic review and meets requirements of its charter.
  14. Leading strategic planning for the Goodyear Technology Center, including current and future development possibilities.
  15. Leveraging global information to benefit the business and representing the organization in dealings with outside organizations.
  16. Interviewing, selecting, developing, and evaluating performance of staff, and responsible for career development of assigned team.
  17. Providing leadership, guidance, and training to managers/site leaders, directing a training approach that allows for expansion of the team's capabilities, cross-training, and business/functional knowledge.
  18. Creating a physical/cultural work environment for all levels of staff that is motivating, safe, and inclusive.
  19. Managing the design/implementation of business continuity plans, including disaster recovery operations within the organization to eliminate or reduce business interruption.
