Job Role:

Patent Specialist is responsible for drafting patent applications, delivering prosecution projects and providing training to team members.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Drafting patent applications for inventions in the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT)
  • Delivering prosecution projects, including formulating response strategies for office actions and drafting complete responses
  • Drafting provisional specifications and patent applications with well-crafted claim sets, conforming to US and EP patent standards
  • Providing training to team members on technical areas
  • Mentoring team members and interns on assigned technology areas, providing direction and guidance for drafting and/or prosecution work
  • Applying process knowledge to produce consistent, high-quality results in assigned tasks
  • Performing multiple tasks independently, creating and supporting processes for client deliverables and talent development
  • Analyzing issues, implementing best practices, and providing recommendations to enhance team performance and productivity
  • Utilizing available tools to analyze and solve problems
  • Participating in the hiring process by preparing test papers, evaluating, and interviewing candidates
  • Leading team members in specialized technical assignments and projects requiring high proficiency and competency

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering/technology from a reputable institute
  • Excellent domain knowledge in ICT
  • 4+ years of experience in patent drafting and/or prosecution, with at least 2 years of experience in patent drafting for the US jurisdiction
