Job Description

The role involves working with a global firm to manage financial lines business, develop underwriting strategies, and collaborate with clients and brokers for sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, analyze, and underwrite financial lines business within defined authority, including D&O, EPLI, Cyber, PI, Crime, Transaction Liability, and others.
  • Structure, price, and negotiate treaty and facultative reinsurance arrangements to meet client needs.
  • Review submissions, assess risk exposure, and provide tailored solutions to clients.

Portfolio Management

  • Manage and grow a book of business while maintaining profitability through effective risk management and underwriting practices.
  • Monitor market trends, claims experience, and emerging risks impacting liability lines to inform business decisions.
  • Contribute to product development and portfolio diversification initiatives to drive business growth.

Market & Client Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with cedents, brokers, and internal stakeholders through regular communication and collaboration.
  • Represent the firm in client meetings, negotiations, and industry forums to promote the company's interests.
  • Provide technical support and thought leadership on financial lines to clients and internal stakeholders.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Work collaboratively with regional and global underwriting teams to align goals and share knowledge.
  • Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to training initiatives to develop their skills and expertise.
  • Support senior management in strategic planning and reporting to inform business decisions.

Requirements

  • Experience in liability underwriting with a strong understanding of financial lines business.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate complex risks and develop creative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
