Senior VMware and Windows Administrator Job Description

We are seeking an experienced IT professional to fill the role of Senior VMware and Windows Administrator. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-grade infrastructure solutions using VMware virtualization platforms and Windows Server environments.

The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience with vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and NSX, as well as a deep understanding of Active Directory, GPOs, DNS/DHCP, and Windows Server roles. Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, PowerCLI) for automation and reporting is also essential.

In addition, the candidate should have experience with backup and recovery tools (e.g., Veeam, Commvault), as well as familiarity with ITIL processes and enterprise ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).

Prior certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP-DCV), Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, or ITIL Foundation or Intermediate would be beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade infrastructure solutions using VMware virtualization platforms and Windows Server environments.
  • Manage and optimize vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and NSX deployments.
  • Provide expert-level support for Active Directory, GPOs, DNS/DHCP, and Windows Server roles.
  • Develop and implement scripts using PowerShell and PowerCLI for automation and reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
Requirements:
  • 8–10 years of experience in VMware and Windows Server administration.
  • Strong hands-on experience with vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and NSX.
  • Deep understanding of Active Directory, GPOs, DNS/DHCP, and Windows Server roles.
  • Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, PowerCLI) for automation and reporting.
  • Experience with backup and recovery tools (e.g., Veeam, Commvault).
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and enterprise ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
