Job Title: Social Mobilizer, GEP

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Social Mobilizer to join our team in India. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the Girls' Education Program at the field level, working closely with schools, communities, and families to promote girls' education and empowerment.

Key Responsibilities:Program Planning and Implementation:
  • Develop a thorough understanding of Room to Read's Girls' Education program design, objectives, and outcomes.
  • Implement program activities as per design, maintaining fidelity and ensuring high-quality delivery.
  • Participate in program planning, collaborating with the Program Associate and other state-level staff to achieve program goals.
  • Regularly attend weekly and monthly workshops to review progress and plan future activities.
Family and Community Engagement:
  • Build strong relationships with schools, communities, and families to promote girls' education and empowerment.
  • Organize and lead family and community meetings, consultations, and events to discuss life skill content and issues.
  • Seek opportunities for networking and create a resource pool for referrals and support.
  • Facilitate visits of donors, INCO, and SO team members to promote program visibility and impact.
Working with Girls:
  • Conduct life skills sessions for 80 girls in batches of 20-25, delivering high-quality content and facilitating discussions.
  • Form Life Skills Clubs/Children Groups and facilitate regular meetings and discussions to promote girls' empowerment and self-expression.
  • Distribute the newsletter GUPSHUP, initiate discussions, and hold follow-up activities to promote girls' engagement and participation.
  • Mentor girls individually and in groups, providing guidance and support to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
Record Keeping, Reporting, and Monitoring:
  • Update records of attendance and parent meetings regularly.
  • Prepare and submit weekly plans during weekly reviews.
  • Timely record keeping, updating data, and sharing analysis of various parameters, including attendance sheets, parent meetings, and dropouts.
  • Filling up socio-economic profiles of girls and conducting regular physical verification of girls on a sample basis.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Social Sciences, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the education or development sector.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Education, Social Sciences, or equivalent.
  • Counseling diploma and/or experience working on mentoring/counseling issues.
  • Experience working on life skills, gender, and adolescents.
  • Strong planning and project implementation skills.
  • Ability to work in remote areas and travel to communities for meetings.
