Data Automation Specialist required to develop and execute test cases with a focus on Fixed Income trading workflows.

About the Role:

  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for writing custom data validation scripts based on provided regression test cases, reading, understanding, and translating stored procedure logic into test automation, and comparing datasets across environments and generating diffs.
  • We are looking for someone who can collaborate with team members and follow structured automation practices, contribute to building and maintaining a central automation script repository, establish and implement comprehensive QA strategies and test plans from scratch, and drive the creation of regression test suites for critical back-office applications.
  • The Data Automation Specialist will also be responsible for collaborating with development, business analysts, and project managers to ensure quality throughout the SDLC, providing clear and concise reporting on QA progress and metrics to management.
  • This role requires strong programming experience in Python or Java, hands-on experience with SQL, including writing and debugging complex queries, understanding stored procedures and using them in automation, and experience working with data structures, large tables, and datasets.
  • The ideal candidate will have comfort with data manipulation, validation, and building comparison scripts, nice-to-have familiarity with PyCharm, VS Code, or IntelliJ for development, and understanding of how automation integrates into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Prior exposure to financial data or post-trade systems is a bonus, as well as excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience of working with test management tools, such as X-Ray/JIRA, is also highly valued, along with extremely strong organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently without the need for close supervision and collaboratively as part of cross-team efforts, this role requires delivering projects within an agile environment.
