Job Title: Financial Operations Manager

The role of a Financial Operations Manager is pivotal in ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of financial statements in accordance with established accounting standards. Key responsibilities include managing the revenue recognition process, conducting detailed research on technical questions/issues, and effectively leading staff.

Main Responsibilities:

• Lead the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely recording of income, expenses, and changes in assets and liabilities according to IFRS requirements.
• Review and approve journal entries and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Presentation of monthly balance sheet and income statement trend analyses for management.
• Preparation of quarterly lender compliance packages.
• Maintenance of overall technical accounting compliance, including monitoring relevant IFRS and US GAAP developments to ensure accounting policies and procedures align with current standards.
• Internal technical accounting expertise includes researching and preparing technical accounting memos, as well as reviewing new and existing revenue contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition.
• Cross-functional collaboration during contract negotiations involves analyzing the impact of non-standard contract terms, communicating revenue implications, and suggesting alternative structures.
• Participation in quarterly forecasting procedures and the annual budget process.
• Support for the annual audit and quarterly reviews, providing supporting analysis and technical accounting memos.
• Training sessions and maintaining business partners abreast of developments in accounting and revenue recognition.
• Delivering exceptional customer service to other departments and stakeholders.
• Development and/or improvement of existing policies, procedures, and controls.
• Collaboration with Controller and Assistant Controller on various initiatives and completion of ad-hoc requests.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
• CPA/CA certification preferred.

Key Qualifications:

• A minimum of 7 years of financial and accounting experience, including at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• A minimum of 2 years of public accounting experience required.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Strong technical accounting background with comprehensive knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP, including experience with technical research and preparation of accounting memorandums.
• Software revenue recognition an advantage.
• Ability to clearly document and communicate complex accounting issues to finance and non-finance teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, multitask efficiently, and manage individuals.
• Detail-oriented with high ethical standards and integrity.
• Experience with accounting systems; Microsoft D365 Finance experience beneficial.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and knowledge of complex functions/data analysis using tools like V-Lookup, Pivot Tables, etc.
• Ability to foster a positive team atmosphere to drive success.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

• This role primarily requires sitting and regular keyboard typing for most of the workday.
• The position necessitates observing computer screens for extended periods to monitor own and others' work, as well as incoming/outgoing communications via computer and/or mobile devices.
• The ability to listen and speak clearly to customers and colleagues is essential.
• The work environment is an open room with other associates and ambient noise from others will be part of the regular workday.
