Optimize Industrial Automation with Sensor Engineering

About the Role:

As a sensor engineer, you will play a crucial part in bringing Industry 4.0 to life in factories that need it most.

Our goal is to design and develop smart AI + sensor systems that can be used on the shop floor to measure various parameters such as steel bars flying out of a rolling mill, spotting defects in plastic pipes, and preventing theft in dispatch yards.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing prototypes using laser line profilers, displacement sensors, ultrasonic probes, and cameras
  • Supporting hardware selection and ensuring compatibility with our existing infrastructure
  • Designing mounts and enclosures that withstand heat, vibration, and factory grit
  • Assisting with integration of DAQ tools, PLCs, and basic OpenCV scripts
  • Contributing to pilot deployments across customer sites in India
  • Troubleshooting and iterating quickly when challenges arise

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in sensors, automation, or machine vision
  • Knowledge of laser triangulation, ultrasonic NDT, or machine vision systems
  • Ability to craft practical mechanical setups (mounts, fixtures, enclosures)
  • Comfort with Python/OpenCV/DAQ basics and PLC connections
  • Willingness to get hands dirty in high-heat/industrial settings
  • Based in India, with flexibility to travel for deployments
  • Apart-time commitment (~20 hrs/week) with optionality for full-time
