Job Description\

Niksun is a leading provider of network and service security, protection, and management solutions. As an OS Engineer/Platform Engineer, you will be part of a team that designs, develops, tests, and maintains custom kernel and kernel modules.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with other OS Engineers to develop portable code bases for applications, libraries, and tools across various *nix variants
  • Automate build and test environments
  • Conduct in-depth code analysis and review of in-house and 3rd party code
  • Troubleshoot incidents across infrastructure, network, storage, and stack levels
  • Document findings and procedures for automation
  • Evaluate new hardware servers, NICs, and add support for them
  • Develop custom command shells and ISO installers


Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of Linux device driver development experience
  • 1-3 years of application development experience in Linux environments
  • Thorough understanding of Linux kernel internals
  • Coding skills in C or C++
  • Hands-on coding skills in Bash, Python, or Perl
  • Experience with build environments and version control systems
  • Kernel and process debugging, profiling tools


Desired Skills:

  • Packet data-path acceleration framework knowledge
  • Golang, Rust, or PCI device driver knowledge
  • Docker, Kubernetes, cgroups, namespace, or virtual environment experience
