Electronic System Developer

As an Electronics Product Specialist, you will be responsible for investigating electronic application and systems problems, understanding causal mechanisms, recommending appropriate actions, owning problem resolution, and documenting results with guidance from more experienced team members.

The role involves applying and improving electronic application and systems development processes and tools, including system specification, modeling and simulation, calibration, Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R), and troubleshooting. You will obtain input from customers, technical and product teams, manufacturing engineers, supplier partners, and other stakeholders to deliver information and recommendations that lead to quality product decisions.

Key responsibilities include making decisions in the areas of electronic and electrical system design, requirements, calibration, and test that impact the quality and performance of calibrated subsystems and feature classes of electronic subsystems. You will review the work of less-experienced developers/testers to ensure robust, reusable, and efficient design, provide independent leadership of smaller business impact projects or ownership of complex components, products, systems, or services with greater elements of ambiguity, and lead the development and improvement of work processes and systems across a functional discipline area within a business unit site.

You will coordinate and direct work amongst technicians and temporary student employees, assist in the transfer of knowledge to less-experienced engineers, provide support and guidance to influence technical direction within a project team, and continue to develop proficiency in the competency areas critical to success in the role.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent STEM field is required.
• A post-graduate (Master's) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles.
• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Additional Responsibilities Unique to this Position

Skills and Experience:

• Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required, with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making.
• Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred.
• Experience in preparing software testing strategy and software test plan for TCMS train systems, performing software testing as per IEC standards, and working in complex work environments.
• Experience in preparing system test specification, test script, execution of test case on the system test rack, review of system/software level requirement.
• Must have user-level knowledge of trains and their sub-systems, along with significant work experience in this area.
• ISTQB certified preferred.
