Process Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Safety and HSE professional with 8+ years of experience in oil and gas projects. The role involves ensuring compliance with process safety management principles and HSE standards across engineering, construction, and operational phases.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and facilitate HAZOP, HAZID, SIL/LOPA studies to identify and mitigate potential hazards
  • Prepare and review safety philosophies, fire risk assessments, and other critical documents to ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Develop quantitative risk assessment (QRA), functional reliability analysis (FERA), and other safety studies in collaboration with third parties as needed
  • Review process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), layouts, and equipment specifications from a safety design perspective to ensure they meet industry standards
  • Support design reviews, manage changes to existing designs, and optimize alarm rationalization to minimize risks
HSE Management:
  • Support the development of HSE plans, conduct risk assessments, and create method statements for projects to ensure compliance with international HSE standards
  • Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, and compliance checks during construction or commissioning to identify and address potential hazards
  • Ensure adherence to international HSE standards, including OSHA, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001, to maintain a safe working environment
  • Investigate incidents, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence
  • Drive a strong safety culture across project teams and subcontractors by leading by example and promoting open communication
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Process, Environmental, or Safety Engineering
  • At least 8 years of experience in process safety and HSE, preferably in EPC/design/project environments
  • Strong knowledge of process safety management, risk assessment, and HSE regulations
  • Proficiency in tools like PHAST, PHA-Pro, BowTieXP, and DNV software
  • Certifications in NEBOSH IGC/PSM, TÜV Functional Safety, or equivalent preferred
