Job Title: Interior Design Lead

Job Summary:

This role involves leading the design, development, and delivery of interior components for new or ongoing program development programs through to launch at the manufacturing plant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the engineering design and technical development of interior components.
  • Deliver commodity plans to quality, cost, and time, including maintaining the worldwide engineering release system.
  • Develop and manage change requests, expenditure forecasts, and relevant supplier teams in support of program milestones.
  • Design verification test plans, including detailed planning of test and development stages through to sign-off and support engineering test teams with issue rectification.
  • Resolve compatibility issues with A-surface designs for technical feasibility, surrounding component packaging, and vehicle attribute teams to develop designs that meet vehicle targets.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience of leading the resolution of business, technical, and process issues within a project team environment.
  • A good working knowledge of product creation and delivery, change control, product definition, and change management processes.
  • Knowledge of automotive body cabin systems, plastic, and sheet metal materials, design rules, bill of design, bill of process, DFMEA, DVP, DFM, part, and assembly level tests.
  • Create 2D sections and 3D geometry using Catia V5/V6/TCE/Digibuck.
  • Experience in using CATIA V5 & V6.
  • Domain knowledge, parametric modeling, BOM creation, and update.
  • GD&T knowledge.
  • Successful history of delivery within the automotive sector.
  • Enovia, Teamcenter Engineering (TCE), Part Release Process, and System.
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels.
  • PC literacy: Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word.
  • BE/B. Tech, ME in Mechanical/Production/Automotive Engineering.
